Mexican Rice



1 Tbs vegetable oil
1 c. long grain rice
2 1/2 c. cold water
2 tsp. walt
2 tsp. garlic salt or 1 tsp. garlic powder
1 (6 oz) can tomato sauce
1-2 tsp chili powder or to taste.

In a skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and cook until lightly browned. Add water and remaining ingredients, bring to boil. Cover and simmer until rice is tender.
